ABOUT

Libby Nook has always had a deep passion for storytelling. Whether immersing herself in the minutiae of the human experience or delving into unexplored worlds, Libby is dedicated to finding new ways to tell engaging stories. She is currently a Radio/TV/Film major at Northwestern University and is passionate about exploring writing, film production, and the creative process. Libby is imaginative, driven, and believes strongly that the best results come with collaboration. She is currently pursuing these interests by joining the General Crew of The Blackout, Northwestern's late night comedy show, and Applause for a Cause, Northwestern's philanthropic feature film project.

Libby was the Editor-In-Chief of Greenwich Academy’s literary magazine Daedalus and a columnist for a teen online humor magazine, the Milking Cat. She has also explored her passion for writing through various writing programs such as NYU’s Online Screenwriters workshop, an online fiction writing workshop with Columbia University, Iowa’s Online Young Writers Studio class, A Perusable Feast, The School of The New York Times’ summer program, Writing for Television: Inside the Writers’ Room, and USC’s online course, Screenwriting: From Ideation to Writing Your First Script.

Through Greenwich Academy’s Global Scholars Program, Libby focused her final capstone project on the role of comedy in authoritarian regimes. The title of her capstone project was “When stand-up stands out; The extent to which comedy thrives and varies in the authoritarian regimes of China, Iran, and Russia.” During her senior year at Greenwich Academy, Libby participated in her own independent study in which she spent the year writing a full-length screenplay, culminating in a pitch deck presentation.
